DD Free Dish DTH service will migrate to GSAT-15 satellite in November/December. GSAT-15 satellite is going to replace the Insat 4B satellite at 93.5° East orbit location.
GSAT-15 is an Indian communication satellite to augment the capacity of transponders to provided more bandwidth for Direct-to-Home television and VSAT services. The satellite will be the 10th one in the series of GSAT satellites. It is expected to launch on 10th Nov 2015 from Ariane 5 rocket along with ArabSat 6B satellite.
The satellite will carry 24 ku band transponders and 2 GAGAN navigational payloads. Besides that it will also carry 2 Ku-band beacons.
